
Kensington has launched the new Universal USB-C and USB 3.0 Docking Station this week in the form of the Kensington SD4700P which is now available to purchase priced at $220. The USB-C docking station has been designed to connect to a single USB-C or USB 3.0 port and provides access to a DisplayPort++/HDMI offering connections with support for up to 2560 x1600 pixels for a single monitor or 2048 x 1152 pixel resolutions for dual monitors using DisplayLink technology.

Kensington supplies the docking station with a 135W power supply offering up to 60W of power for devices connected via the Power Delivery (PD) USB-C port. Other features include 6 x USB ports consisting of 1 x USB-C port, and 5 x USB 3.0 ports, one of which is a fast-charging port offering 2.1A and capable of charging either smartphones or tablets.
The docking station also includes a Gigabit Ethernet Port and combination 3.5 mm headphone and microphone jack. The docking station also comes with a handy VESA-compatible mounting system allowing you to hide it behind any monitor if required to keep your workspace clutter-free.
