Jaguar and a former British Olympic skier called Graham Bell have teamed up to break a Guinness World Record for the fastest towed speed on skis. Jag used its sexy XF Sportbrake wagon powered by a 3.0L supercharged gas V6 making 380PS. That engine pushes the AWD wagon to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds.
Jag chose that car because it has Adaptive Surface Response and All Surface Progress Control to help the car go in low grip conditions. Once Graham was hooked up to the tow line the Jag set off and reached an average top speed of 117 mph with Bell on the outside of the car.
That speed smashed the previous record for the same feat by 47 mph. The record setting run was performed at the Jaguar Land Rover Arctic Revi Test Centre in Arjeplog, Sweden in the Arctic Circle. It was -28C during the run, it must have been really cold to be on the outside of a car at that speed.
