Apple will unveil its new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones at its event tomorrow, the company is expected to put the new iPhones up for pre-order later this week.
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are expected to be made available to pre-order this Friday the 11th of September and will then apparently hit stores the following week.
Going on previous years iPhone launches we are expecting the iPhone 6S release date to be Friday the 18th of September, one week after the handset is expected to be made available for pre-order.
Both of Apple’s new iPhones will come with a number of updates over the existing models, the design is expected to remain very similar to the iPhone 6.
The major upgrades on the new iPhones will come in the form of hardware, both handsets are expected to get new displays with Apple’s Force Touch technology which may end up being called the 3D Touch display.
The resolution of the displays on both handsets will also get an upgrade, the 4.7 inch iPhone 6S is said to come with a Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and the 5.5 inch 6S Plus is rumored to feature a Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
Apple are also expected to introduce a new processor with the new iPhones, the Apple A9 which will bring a number of performance improvements as well as improved graphics over the current models, we are also expecting the new handsets to come with 2GB of RAM.
The storage options on the handsets are expected to remain the same and will range from 16GB up to 128GB, both devices will also get a new fingerprint sensor which is said to be considerably more accurate than the current one used in the iPhone 6.
Apple will also introduce new front and rear facing camera, the front FaceTime camera is expected to get an improved sensor which will be capable or recording Full HD video in 1080p. The rear camera is rumored to come with a 12 megapixel sensor and will apparently support Ultra HD video in 4K, it will also come with a five element lens and will be designed for taking better photos in low light conditions.
Both handsets will come with iOS 9, which has been available in beta for some time, we are expecting Apple to release iOS 9 to existing devices some time next week, this usually happens a few days before the launch of Apple’s new iPhones.
Apple will apparently introduce a new color option in this years launch, Rose Gold, to go along with the existing Gold, Silver and Space Grey options.We will have more information on the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus when then are made official at Apple’s press event tomorrow.
