The new iPhone 6 is expected to go into production this month, Apple are expected to launch the handset in September, and it looks like the company has ordered a massive amount of handsets in their first batch of orders.
According to a recent report, Apple has placed orders with its suppliers, which include Foxconn and Pegatron in the region of 68 million handsets, and this is just for the first batch of devices.
Apple will launch two different versions of the iPhone 6, a 5.5 inch model which is rumored to be the iPhone Air, and a smaller 5.7 inch model.
We have been hearing more and more about the new iPhone over the last few weeks, and we heard yesterday and today that both models of the device will feature a sapphire glass display.
This will make the new iPhone considerably more durable that the previous models, as the display will be a lot more resistant to scratches and also less prone to cracks and breaking.
Apple are also said to include a new fingerprint sensor in the iPhone 6, this is said to be more accurate and more durable than the current generation TouchID.
The handset will also come with a new Apple A8 mobile processor and update cameras over the existing iPhone 5S, both models of the new iPhone 6 are said to feature different cameras.
We are expecting the iPhone 6 to be made official at an Apple event on the 9th of September, the handset is rumored to go on sale in the U.S. and UK on the 19th of September.
