Last week we heard a rumor that Apple’s iPhone 5 would be announced on the 7th of September, now according to Kara Swisher from All Things D, this rumored launch date is incorrect and the iPhone 5 will launch in October.
Now if Apple does hold their annual iPod event in September, with the rumored date of the 7th of September, we suspect that they will announce the iPhone 5 at the same time, but it actually wont launch, or go on sale until October.
It would be perfectly reasonable for Apple to announce the new iPhone 5 at the same time as it announces the new iPod Touch, and then start selling it a few weeks later at the end of September, start of October.
Apple has done this in the past with iPhone launches, the could announce it at the September event if it takes place, and then put it up for pre-order right away with an actual launch date of October.
I guess we will have to see when Apple finally announces the iPhone 5 exactly when it will be available, personally I am putting my money on it being announced next month and then being made available by the end of September, start of October.
