With the launch of the new iPad Mini with Retina display, Apple now offers two different versions of the iPad Mini at different price points.
The iPad Mini retails for $299 and comes with 16GB of built in storage, the iPad Mini with Retina display retails for $399 and it comes with a choice of 16GB, 32GB, 62GB or 128GB of built in storage, there are also cellular models of both devices.
Let us have a look at the hardware on the two tablets, first up is the processor, the iPad Mini comes with an Apple A5 processor, the iPad Mini with Retina Display features a 64-bit Apple A7 processor.
The main difference between the iPad Mini and the iPad Mini is the Retina display, the non Retina model has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, where as the Retina version features a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.
The cameras are the same on both devices, up front we have a FaceTime HD camera which can take 1.2 megapixel photos and record 720p HD video.
On the back of both models of the iPad Mini there is a 5 megapixel iSight camera, which can record full HD video in 1080p and also snap five megapixel photos.
