Today Iomega has announced that it will be updating its external eGo hard drive range to now include USB 3.0 connectivity and eventually moving to USB 3.0 across all its external hard drive ranges.
To help consumers change to USB 3.0, Iomega has kindly kept the prices of the new USB 3.o drives the same price as the old drives for the near future.
The new Iomega 500GB and 1TB models of the eGO drives will be released in October and will include 256-bit hardware encryption for data protection. Together with Drop Guard Xtreme for ensuring your data is safe from knock and bumps.
Following on from the eGo the net Iomega range to get the USB 3.0 upgrade will be the Prestige Compact Portable Hard Drive, that is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2011.
