Intel has just revealed its latest high end, Xeon E7 10-core dual-threaded processor designed for high performance computers and servers. The new processors have been created to supports up to 20 threads and are based on the 32 nanometer manufacturing process, and are Intel’s first processors to include more than eight cores.
Xeon E7 10-core dual-threaded processor is up to 40 percent faster and more energy efficient when compared to its predecessors. They are equipped with 2TBytes of main memory, and 30Mbytes of last-level cache.
Intel will be shipping 10 different variations with prices starting from $774 to a massive $4616 (bulk prices), for extreme processing power. Systems built using the new processors will be available from manufactures from today including: Dell, HP, Lenovo, and SGI.
