We’ve heard quite a lot about Huawei’s upcoming flagship device, the Ascend P8. While many people are expecting the handset to see the light of the day at the Mobile World Congress 2015, but it seems that’s not the case.
The Ascend P8 is set to launch on April 15th in London at a press event, confirmed Huawei’s director of communications, Jerry Huang.
Huawei has a history of choosing Europe for the launch of its P series smartphones. The Ascend P6 made its debut in London in 2013, and the Chinese company chose Paris to be the launch pad for their Ascend P7 smartphone.
Jie Jinjin, Huawei’s vice president of handsets, said the company chose Europe over the US is because it’s the place where they have better sales for its high-end devices. “This is why we didn’t choose the US. We chose Europe because Europe is the market where we have very good sales of high-end smartphones,” he said.
Huawei Ascend P8 will reportedly come with a 5.2-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, a Kirin 930 processor, 3GB of RAM, 13MP camera with optical image stabilization, and a 2,600 mAh battery to make sure there’s enough juice for the handset.
