HTC recently announced the new HTC First, which will come with Facebook Home, and now we have a video of the AT&T version of the handset being unboxed from the guys over at Phandroid.
The HTC First features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and comes with a 4.3 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, processing is provided by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.
The HTC First also comes with dual cameras, up front we have a 1.6 megapixel camera for video chat, on the back we have a 5 megapixel camera for photos and video.
Design and Build Quality
The HTC First boasts a sleek and minimalist design, which is typical of HTC’s approach to smartphone aesthetics. The device is crafted with a soft-touch finish that makes it comfortable to hold and use. The 4.3-inch display is compact by today’s standards, making it an excellent choice for users who prefer a phone that can easily fit into a pocket or be used with one hand. The HD resolution ensures that the display is sharp and vibrant, providing a pleasant viewing experience for videos, photos, and web browsing.
Facebook Home Integration
One of the standout features of the HTC First is its integration with Facebook Home. Facebook Home is a user interface layer for Android that puts Facebook content front and center on your device. With Facebook Home, your news feed becomes your home screen, and you can easily interact with your friends’ posts, photos, and messages without having to open a separate app. This makes the HTC First an ideal choice for avid Facebook users who want a seamless social media experience.
In addition to the Facebook Home interface, the HTC First also includes all the standard Android features and access to the Google Play Store, allowing users to download and install a wide range of apps and games.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the HTC First is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, which provides smooth and responsive performance for everyday tasks. While it may not be the most powerful processor on the market, it is more than capable of handling social media, web browsing, and casual gaming. The device also comes with 1GB of RAM, which helps to ensure that multitasking is efficient and lag-free.
Battery life is another important consideration for smartphone users, and the HTC First does not disappoint in this regard. The device is equipped with a 2,000mAh battery, which provides enough power to get through a full day of moderate use. This includes activities such as checking social media, browsing the web, and making phone calls. For users who are more demanding, the battery life may be shorter, but it is still respectable for a device of this size and specification.
Camera Capabilities
The HTC First is equipped with dual cameras, making it a versatile device for capturing both photos and videos. The front-facing 1.6-megapixel camera is perfect for video chats and selfies, providing clear and detailed images. The rear-facing 5-megapixel camera is capable of taking high-quality photos and recording 1080p video. While it may not have the advanced features of some higher-end smartphones, it is more than adequate for everyday photography needs.
The HTC First is a well-rounded smartphone that offers a unique social media experience with its Facebook Home integration. It combines a sleek design, solid performance, and good battery life, making it a great choice for users who prioritize social media and ease of use. Whether you’re a Facebook enthusiast or simply looking for a reliable and compact smartphone, the HTC First is worth considering.
