HTC unveiled the HTC Desire 816 at MWC 2014 last month, and we recently heard that the handset was expected to retail for less than $300.
According to a recent report, the HTC Desire 816 will retail for $293 or 213 Euros, and it will be offered by all three carriers in China and will be available from the 18th of March.
The HTC Desire 816 comes with a 5.5 inch HD display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the device features a quad core 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM, the handset also comes with 8GB of built in storage.
Storage and Expandability
Should you need additional storage, the HTC Desire 816 comes with a microSD card slot that supports 128GB cards. This is particularly useful for users who need to store large amounts of data, such as high-resolution photos, videos, and apps. The inclusion of a microSD card slot is a significant advantage over some other smartphones in the same price range, which often lack expandable storage options.
Camera Capabilities
The device also features front and rear facing cameras. On the front of the handset, we have a 5 megapixel camera for video calls and selfies. This front camera is capable of capturing clear and detailed images, making it ideal for social media enthusiasts. On the back of the device, there is a 13 megapixel camera. This rear camera is equipped with various features such as autofocus, LED flash, and HDR, which enhance the quality of photos and videos. The 13 megapixel camera ensures that users can capture high-quality images even in low-light conditions.
The HTC Desire 816 also comes with 4G LTE connectivity, which provides fast internet speeds for browsing, streaming, and downloading. This is a crucial feature for users who rely on their smartphones for internet access on the go. Additionally, the handset is equipped with a 2,600 mAh battery, which offers a decent battery life. This means that users can expect the device to last through a full day of moderate usage without needing to recharge.
The handset comes with HTC Sense 5.5, which is HTC’s custom user interface. HTC Sense 5.5 offers a range of features and enhancements that improve the overall user experience. For example, it includes BlinkFeed, which aggregates news and social media updates into a single, easy-to-read feed on the home screen. This allows users to stay updated with the latest news and social media posts without having to open multiple apps.
The HTC Desire 816 runs on the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.4 KitKat. Android 4.4 KitKat brings several improvements and new features to the device, such as a more efficient memory management system, a redesigned user interface, and enhanced security features. These improvements ensure that the device runs smoothly and efficiently, providing a better overall user experience.
The HTC Desire 816 offers a range of impressive features at an affordable price point. With its large HD display, powerful processor, expandable storage, high-quality cameras, and 4G LTE connectivity, it is a great option for users looking for a mid-range smartphone. The inclusion of HTC Sense 5.5 and Android 4.4 KitKat further enhances the user experience, making the HTC Desire 816 a well-rounded and attractive choice for consumers.
