Back in December, HTC started rolling out the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with Sense 5.5 UI for the HTC Butter fly S.
Now, reports suggest that HTC has commenced the roll out of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the HTC Butterfly S. The news was also shared by LlabTooFer, an HTC ROM developer, with a screenshot of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update screen.
The update brings all the goodness of Android 4.4.2 KitKat, including restyled status bar icons, improved messaging capabilities with the ability to select Hangouts as the default SMS/MMS app. Additionally, it brings Cloud Print Service, several security enhancements, removal of support for web browser flash player and more.
The update is sized at almost 736MB, and it would be best if you download the update on WiFi, especially if you don’t want to choke out your mobile data limits. The update bumps the software version to 3.06.708.3.
If you haven’t received the update, be patient as the process usually takes some time to complete. Otherwise you can manually check for the update from the Settings app on your device. If you’re one of those lucky ones who already received the update, feel free to let us know using the comments below, along with your country of residence.
