Campers, adventurers and explorers searching for a lightweight wood burning rocket stove may be interested in the new Hot Ash Mini launched via Kickstarter this week to raise the required funds it needs to make the jump into production. The compact design weighs less than 1lb and includes a titanium chimney and burn chamber, fuel is provided by small sticks and twigs eliminating the need for fuel canisters.
Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the Hot Ash Mini which is now available to back via Kickstarter with early bird pledges available from $60 roughly £45. “In 2015 you helped us get our rugged, stainless steel, beast of a stove into the hands of the campers and bushcrafters of the world that enjoy our unique, rocket stove design. The original Hot Ash Stove was made with intention to take a beating… and it does. In the 3 years we’ve been around, not one Hot Ash Stove has been returned. We now want to extend the Hot Ash experience to a new group of outdoor enthusiasts: the light-weight backpacker.”
“Once you light your fuel, the fire burns sideways because of drafted air. This air hits the back of the stove, creating turbulence – and thus a secondary burn. Because of the bottom chamber, pre-heated air combines with the secondary burn to create a super-hot fire.” Jump over to the official Kickstarter campaign page by following the link below for a full list of all available pledges.
