Apple’s iPhone SE 2 was previously rumored to launch at WWDC 2018, Apple did not reveal any new hardware at WWDC earlier this month. This leaves the question on when Apple will launch the handset.
According to a recent report the new iPhone SE 2 may have been cancelled and the only new iPhones we will see this year are the three iPhone X handsets.
The news comes in a report from Forbes who have revealed that one case manufacturer has now cancelled their plans for cases for the device. The case manufacturer Olixar previously published correct designs for a number of devices before they were released.
The iPhone SE 2 was rumored to have a similar design to the existing handset with a few changes. The handset was rumored to come with a notch on the front and a glass back for wireless charging.
The device was rumored to come with an Apple A10 Fusion processor and 2GB of RAM, plus two storage options, 32GB and 64GB. The handset was also rumored to feature a FaceTime HD camera on the front and a 12 megapixel camera on the back.
One of the reasons the device may have been cancelled is the lower price for the LCD iPhone X, this handset is rumored to cost between $600 and $700. Of course this information may be wrong and we could possibly see the iPhone SE 2 later this year, if we do then it could launch in September with the three new iPhone X handsets.
