Over the weekend Major Nelson has announced the availability of new content for the Xbox Halo Master Chief Collection in the form of the remastered Halo 3 ODST campaign.
Halo 3 ODST offer Halo fans the popular campaign now enhanced and running at 1080p and 60fps together with Remnant, a map that is a re-imagined version of the Halo 2 multiplayer map Relic.
Remnant will also be added to the multiplayer of Halo 2: Anniversary as part of a free game content update.
“Remnant Multiplayer Map Comes to Halo 2: Anniversary : A secluded island, hidden along the coastal regions of Delta Halo, “Remnant” features a towering and iconic Forerunner megalith, weathered over untold millennia. The map’s asymmetric layout and the artifact’s elevated, yet embedded, position, make it perfect for classic Slayer, Assault, and 1-Flag CTF game types. Of course, this re-imagined version of the classic map sports its share of innovations.”
Microsoft also revealed that The Halo 3: ODST campaign will be free to Xbox owners who logged in to their Xbox Live accounts and played Halo: The Master Chief Collection between November 11th 2014 and December 19th 2014.
If you are eligible for the content players will receive a download code that can be redeemed for the campaign of Halo 3: ODST through Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Otherwise Halo 3: ODST campaign will be available as downloadable content for Halo: The Master Chief Collection through the Xbox Store for $4.99.
