Last week we heard about a new TV from Haier which features no wires and is powered without the need for a power cable, and now Haier has shown off another new TV at this year’s IFA, a 22 inch transparent OLED TV.
This new transparent OLED TV features similar specifications to Samsung’s OLED panel that we heard about previously, with a WSXGA+ resolution of 1680 x 1050. Have a look at the video of it in action.
Innovative Features of Haier’s Transparent OLED TV
The Haier 22 inch transparent OLED TV is not just a marvel of modern technology but also a glimpse into the future of television design. The transparent display allows viewers to see through the screen when it is turned off, making it an intriguing piece of technology for both home and commercial use. This feature could be particularly useful in retail environments, where the TV could display advertisements or information while still allowing customers to see the products behind it.
The TV’s WSXGA+ resolution of 1680 x 1050 ensures that the picture quality is sharp and clear, providing an immersive viewing experience. The OLED technology also means that the TV can produce deep blacks and vibrant colors, which are essential for high-quality video playback. Additionally, OLED screens are known for their energy efficiency, which could make this transparent TV a more environmentally friendly option compared to traditional LCD screens.
Potential Applications and Market Impact
While there are no details yet on when this transparent OLED display will go on sale or how much it will retail for, the potential applications for this technology are vast. In addition to its use in retail settings, the transparent OLED TV could be used in smart homes, where it could serve as both a television and a window. Imagine watching your favorite show while still being able to see the view outside your home.
In the commercial sector, transparent OLED screens could be used in offices for presentations, in museums for interactive exhibits, or in public spaces for dynamic advertising. The possibilities are endless, and as the technology becomes more affordable, we can expect to see it being adopted in a variety of settings.
