The highly anticipated official launch of the latest Rockstar game Grand Theft Auto V launched on PC earlier this week, and has already broken the previous Steam concurrent player record for a non Valve created game which was previously held by the awesome Skyrim game.
After launch Skyrim saw around 280,000 concurrent users playing the game via Steam but now the GTA 5 PC version has taken the title by clocking up 300,452 players this week.
However both figures pale into insignificance when you compare the figures with Valve created games such as Dota 2 and CS:GO that have over 777,000 and 450,000 concurrent players respectively, enjoying the game today alone.
When GTA 5 originally launched on consoles around the world Rockstar set the record for reaching $1 billion in revenue faster than any other entertainment product in history. For more information on the new GTA 5 PC version of the game jump over to the Steam games network website for details and to purchase and download.
The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V also exclusively contains the new Rockstar Editor that allows you to create movies of your exploits whilst playing and share them via social networks with your friends and fellow gamers.
