Those of you that use and collaborate using CAD drawings and need a robust way of managing a project using variety of different hardware, may be interested to know that GrabCAD Workbench is now free for all and is accessible via any browser.
An email notification about the change from a subscription package that was priced at $70 per user per month was sent out by Hardi Meybaum, CEO of GrabCAD earlier this week.
Meybaum explained : “We are excited to supply every engineer with a free solution that enables rapid iteration on design concepts, mobile access to designs, and generally increases the speed and quality of the design process.”- “GrabCAD will continue to invest in Workbench and develop it as the tool of choice for CAD collaboration.”
GrabCAD was acquired by 3D printing company Stratasys last September for $100M and the reason behind the shift to a free product is to enable the company to focus on growing the WorkBench community says Meybaum.
