Google may not seem like it cares about Android fragmentation or the fact that a large swathe of devices using its OS don’t have access to a healthy portion of apps on its Android Market, but in fact nothing could be further from the truth. And to show it, they’re going to slightly improve the warning system so you know exactly what devices apps aren’t compatible with just by glancing at their Android Market page.
The tweak hasn’t been advertised as of yet and in fact only seems to be available to some users, but all it does is take the filtering system already in place and makes it more visible, so you’re not missing much even if it hasn’t rolled out for you yet. As for a solution that truly addresses fragmentation, we’ll probably have to wait for Ice Cream Sandwich for that.
