Back in May of this year Google announced that its Google Play Store dedicated to selling and providing Android apps, had passed a massive 15 billion application downloads.
Now just a few months later Google has announced that their Google Play Store has passed a whopping 25 billion application downloads, and to celebrate Google has launched an app and games sale at just $0.25 each.
Google Market as it was called when it launched back in March 2009, started with around 2,500 application to choose from. Now in 2012 and after a rebrand to the Google Play Store earlier this year, it now contains a massive 675,000 application to choose from. Google explains a little more about their new promotion to celebrate hitting 25 billion downloads:
“Every day you’ll be able to choose from a collection of apps from some of the world’s top developers including Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, runtastic, Full Fat and more. And all for just 25 cents. We’ll also be offering some special collections like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top selling magazines, all at special prices.
