Google Maps is one of my favorite applications, especially when I’m travelling as it helps me find out directions to the places I have to visit. The app has voice-guided navigation as well which can be very handy especially when you’re driving yourself.
Recently, Google has introduced a new feature which offers voice-guided lane guidance for highways in several European countries including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Ireland.
“When you’re in the turn-by-turn navigation mode, we can now make sure you don’t miss your next turn or exit by showing you which lane to stay in or move to so you’ll never find yourself darting across traffic at the last minute — or worse, driving for miles down the wrong road. When you approach a junction or exit with multiple lanes, voice guidance will suggest which lanes are best for your route. You’ll also have easy access to alternate routes while you’re navigating, so you can choose the best drive for you,” Google said in a blog post.
This means that Google Maps will tell you which lane to stick in to for your specified destination, or which exit to take so you don’t have to drive miles before you can find an exit to return to the correct path.
