Google’s new web browser Google Chrome has now been released, and is available to download.
I have had a few hours of playing with Google’s new browser, and I have to admit I am fairly impressed.
Installation was a breeze and it was easy to copy all my settings and bookmarks over from FireFox, the setup only took a few minutes, I suspect it would take a lot less, but I was importing a lot of data from FireFox.
The homepage which shows your most visited websites is quite useful, as standard the Chrome browser is setup to use a new tab page as the homepage, which shows you all your most visited websites, if you are like me and have a custom homepage this can be annoying, but it is very easy to change it to your custom homepage, and the good thing is that when you open a new tab, you can choose to have access to your most visited pages, which gives you the best of both.
Overall on the brief amount of time I have been using Google Chrome, I like it, it will be interesting to see how it is developed and whether it can take on FireFox and IE.
