If you enjoy capturing footage with your GoPro action camera but find carrying many of the add-on handles on the market a little awkward and bulky. You might be interested in a new compact GoPro handle called GoBall which has been designed by Chris Zahner specifically for the GoPro action camera and provides a more natural and ergonomic way to steady your camera.
The GoBall project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production and has been designed to be spherical handle rather than the more traditional rod styled handles currently available.
Chris explains a little more about the design process : “We went through the most basic design, had it 3D printed and tested it. It performed great. The grip feels incredibly natural and allows you to pull the camera out of your pocket faster than a Formula 1 pit-stop.
As soon as our final version 3D printed prototype arrived, Marco and I knew that we were onto something and immediately thought about how this could be used by so many GoPro users around the world. We instantly thought about Kickstarter and started talking to manufacturers.
We knew that high quality, a short turn-around time and good communication with the manufacturer were paramount. We started discussions with multiple factories here in the USA and we refined the design of the GoBall for maximum weight savings, great looks and a design that would be compatible with super-strong ABS plastic injection molding. “
So if you think GoBall is something you could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help GoBall become a reality.
