Garmin makes navigation products specifically for just about any method of travel you can think of. The company has GPS devices for cars, planes, and motorcycles. It also offers GPS devices for bicyclists. The latest cycling computer from Garmin has turned up and it is called the Edge 1000. This is the top of the line cycling computer that Garmin offers.
It has cycling specific functions including the ability to view start and end points for segments. Users can also race themselves or segment leaders using the advanced segment capabilities. Other features include instant social media uploads from the device, live tracking, and the ability to upload or download data on the go when near a hotspot.
One of the coolest of the bike specific features is the ability to tell the Edge 1000 how far you want to ride and it will pick up to three round trip cycling routes for you to choose from. The routes will offer elevation data. The device has a 3-inch color touchscreen that can be controlled while wearing gloves. It is also compatible with ANT+ sensors. The Edge 1000 along will sell for $599.99 and a bundle including speed and cadence sensors will sell for $699.99.
