Fitbit has unveiled their new wristband fitness tracker today, which moves away from the clip style design that their other products are equipped with. Providing a fitness tracker styled along the lines of the Jawbone, which unfortunately missed it chance to enter the market after encountering a number of technical problems.
The new Fitbit Flex allows you to counts calories, steps taken and distance covered, but currently doesn’t allow you to track flights climbed, as with other fitness tracking devices.
Other features on the Fitbit Flex Wristband include a silent alarm feature, and the ability to track the number of hours you have slept.together with a row of LEDs that provide you with a percentage complete status.
The Fitbit Flex Wristband is now available to pre-order for $100 directly from the Fibit website, and it will be interesting to see how Nike counters this new addition to the fitness tracking market with their Nike+ Fuelband.
