Earlier today, Microsoft announced they are starting to roll out the Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan update for existing handsets running WP8. Do note that it’s going to take a few months for the update to reach all devices in all regions. Why? Well, because the update has to get certification from carriers and OEMs, which can take as long as months.
If you’re rocking a Windows Phone 8 powered Lumia device, and want to know if the update is available for your device, you be glad to find out that Nokia has create a software update page which lists every region and available devices, along with the status of the update.
This is not the first time Nokia/Microsoft did this, the company also updated the software update page last year as well, when it started the roll out of the Amber update, listing every single Windows Phone 8 powered device there is in the market.
For instance, if you take a look at Europe, the UK to be specific, it lists the update as “under testing” for all the devices available in the country. While we’re not sure about the devices it will start with, it’s highly likely that it may begin with the Lumia 925, or may be the Lumia 520, since these two are possible the most popular Windows Phone handsets.
