Ferrari has rolled out a new car that is the latest in the Ferrari V8-engined special series of cars. The new ride is the 488 Pista and it slots in the line with the previous 360 Challenge Stradale, 430 Scuderia, and 458 Speciale. The Pista weighs 90kg less than the 488 GTB with a weight of 1280kg dry.
The car uses the most powerful Ferrari V8 in the company’s history. The engine makes 530kW (about 710hp) and 770 Nm torque, or about 567 lb-ft. The car can reach 100 km/h in 2.85 seconds and has a top speed of 340 km/h on the track.
One look at the car and the aero work Ferrari has put in is clear. The car has F1 inspired S-Duct and front diffuser to create suction and increase downforce. The rear spoiler is higher and longer with a shape optimized for downforce. Pricing is unannounced, but it is a special edition Ferrari so not cheap. There is no word on how many will be built.
