There are plenty of instant messaging clients out on the internet, but WhatsApp continues to be the leading one with some others catching up. One of them is an Indian-based Hike Messenger.
Recently, the company has accused the social networking giant Facebook for blocking some of their ads on the social network.
The company’s spokesperson said in a statement,
“Advertisers have, among other options, the option to ‘send people to your website’. A few weeks back we were suddenly blocked from using this option, while we were able to use other non action-led options.”
When the folks at Hike Messenger got in touch with Facebook, they were presented with a following statement,
“There are specific products and services that cannot be advertised on Facebook – looks like Hike is one of these. Unfortunately, you will not be able to run these ads.”
This doesn’t come as a surprise as WhatsApp was also reported to have blocked the links of Hike Messenger sent through the app.
