There have been a number of rumors over the last few weeks that Facebook were in talks with facial recognition company Face.com in a deal which is reported to be worth $60 million.
Face.com specializes in mobile facial recognition technology, Facebook is concentrating heavily on mobile technology and obviously has plans for the Face.com technology in its mobile strategy.
Now, lots of developers use Face.com technology to power various apps and make wonderful products. We love you guys, and the plan is to continue to support our developer community. It will be interesting to see what Facebook has planned for the Face.com facial recognition technology and how it is integrated into Facebook’s mobile and web strategy.
