Makers and hobbyists searching for an affordable desktop laser cutter and engraver may be interested in a new machine offering a working area of 24 x 12 inches which has been created by Light Phase Technologies.
Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the new CO2 laser engraver and cutter system which has taken to Kickstarter to raise $50,000 over the next 35 days.
Imagine one device that can both engrave and cut a variety of materials using concentrated light without ever touching the material. We’ve created a system that mounts the laser tube in such a way that it moves with the motion system. It can swiftly create extremely precise engravings with tightly controlled laser pulses and can cut through materials such as wood, acrylic, fabric, leather, foam, cardboard etc. You control it much like you would a printer and since nothing physical ever touches your material it can do things no other machine can do.
You may have seen or worked other lasers on the market. As a group we have been working in the laser industry for a combined 20 years. We were each a little disappointed in how the big laser companies we saw up close did things. Years passed and we ran into each other and decided it was time to combine our knowledge to form a new laser company that would finally produce a reliable yet still affordable laser system while still treating the customer the way we always thought was possible. We vowed to never cut corners to save a penny at the expense of reliability even if it means we make less profit. We want the customer to own a machine they are so happy with that they will tell their friends about us.
