CyanogenMod and One Plus recently announced their partnership to launch a new CynogenMod smartphone, the handset will be called the OnePlus One.
Now Peter Lau has confirmed that the new CyanogenMod OnePlus One smartphone will launch in the second quarter of 2014.
The OnePlus One CyanogenMod smartphone will apparently come with ‘2014 flagship specs, both inside and outside’, which means that we should see the device equipped with the latest high end hardware.
Expected Specifications and Features
As yet there are no details on exactly what hardware the OnePlus One will come with, although we can guess what the possible specifications on the device may be.
We would expect the OnePlus One to come with at least a full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, although it may launch with a higher resolution QHD display. A higher resolution display would certainly appeal to users who prioritize screen clarity and sharpness for activities such as gaming and media consumption.
Processing could be provided by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, although the device could feature Qualcomm’s new processor, the Snapdragon 805, and we would expect at least 2GB of RAM, possibly 3GB. The Snapdragon 805 would offer improved performance and efficiency, making the device more competitive in the high-end smartphone market.
In terms of storage, it is likely that the OnePlus One will offer multiple options, possibly starting from 16GB and going up to 64GB or even 128GB. This would cater to different user needs, from casual users to those who require more storage for apps, photos, and videos.
Software and Additional Features
The OnePlus One will run on CyanogenMod, a popular custom version of Android known for its enhanced performance and additional features. CyanogenMod offers a more customizable user experience compared to stock Android, with features such as enhanced privacy controls, a theme engine, and performance tweaks.
Camera capabilities are also a significant aspect of modern smartphones. While there are no confirmed details, we can speculate that the OnePlus One might feature a high-resolution rear camera, possibly 13MP or higher, with advanced features like optical image stabilization (OIS) and 4K video recording. The front camera could be around 5MP, catering to the growing trend of selfies and video calls.
Battery life is another critical factor for users. The OnePlus One might come with a large battery, possibly around 3000mAh or more, to ensure it can last through a full day of heavy usage. Fast charging technology could also be included, allowing users to quickly recharge their device.
Connectivity options are expected to include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 or higher, and possibly NFC for mobile payments and other uses. The inclusion of these features would ensure that the OnePlus One is well-equipped to handle the demands of modern smartphone users.
As soon as we get some more information on the new OnePlus One smartphone we will let you guys know.
