CyanogenMod recently teamed up with Oppo to launch a CyanogenMod version of the Oppo N1, the company also announced that they were working on a new smartphone with a new manufacturer.
The manufacturer that CyanogenMod has been working with is as we suspected, the new OnePlus company which was recently launched by former Oppo executive, Peter Lau.
After months of speculation, we can finally say for certain – our first phone will ship with a specially designed version of CyanogenMod with exciting new elements and features! The good news was announced earlier today by our CEO Pete Lau and Cyanogen Inc CTO Steve Kondik.
The CyanogenMod team will work in tandem with us to combine the best hardware with the best software. They are developing a custom version of CyanogenMod with special features and tweaks. We think the end result will be quite spectacular!
The two companies have announced a name for thier new CyanogenMod smartphone, the device will be called the OnePlus One, and we can expect to hear more details about the device in the first half of the year.
As soon as we get some more information on the new CyanogenMod OnePlus One we will let you guys know.
