A unique timepiece has been created by Caliper in the form of the Slide Rule , a watch mechanical watch with an integrated slide rule, that comes supplied with a separate circular steel slide rule.
The Slide Rule watch has taken to Kickstarter to raise the required funds its designers require to take the timepiece into production. Watch the promotional video below to learn more about its design and unique features.
Caliper Timepieces is back with a new project inspired by mid-twentieth century instruments. The ‘Caliper Slide View’ combines a self-winding mechanical watch with an icon of pre-electronic technology: the slide rule. In 2016 the ‘Caliper View’ watch was launched on Kickstarter. The design was based on the look and feel of precision tools from the 50s and 60s. The same aesthetic theme inspires this new project: another beautifully made mechanical device.
The circular slide rule allows you to multiply and divide numbers. You can also set it up as a handy conversion tool for units of measure or currencies. Every watch includes a 3 inch (8 cm) circular steel slide rule. To ensure you can make the best use of both slide rules, we’re including instructions. After all, using a slide rule has become a lost art.
