Not to make fun of avid gym goers who spend hours bulking up, but this latest War Hammer called SISU is something else. Apparently it’s part of some exercise that involves demolishing things. Nothing wrong about that, since if you’ve ever experienced demolishing a house with a sledgehammer, you know the thrill involved with the task. Even Peter Gabriel had a hit single titled ‘Sledgehammer’; it was probably about something totally different. Anyway, The SISU (it’s a Finnish motivational phrase) stands apart by virtue of its exercise-centric appeal.
The SISU is no laughing matter though. It might not have magical Asgardian powers or was forged in some ethereal dimension, but it does pack a huge load. The hammerhead can weight a total of 28lbs, which is serious stuff if you’re swinging this beast at a wall of bricks. In a showdown between a wall of bricks and a sledgehammer, the bricks usually get the worst. Unless, of course, they collapse on the person wielding the hammer.
The SISU currently sells for $125. A little steep considering sledgehammer’s are readily available in a local hardware. Then again, they don’t have inspiring Finnish words printed on them.
