Developers, makers and hobbyists that enjoy building projects using the Arduino platform, might be interested in this new Arduino powered 3D printer and CNC machine called the Buildersbot.
The Buildersbot is equipped with a welded steel frame and offers a large print volume and is capable of being used as either a 3D Printer or CNC machine depending on your requirements.
The Buildersbot is capable of providing users with a 3D printing area that measures 500 x 600 x 200 in size using a printing head that is powered by four Nema 23 motors.
Below are a couple of videos one of which shows the design of the Buildersbot and its mechanical construction as a 3D rendering. While the very bottom video shows the actual Buildersbot working in real life providing you with a good idea of what you can expect once you have built it.
The BuildersBot 3D printer has been developed by Aldric Negrier and full instructions on how to create your very own can be found over on the Instructables website. The BuildersBot requires the following electronic components :
– 4 Nema 23 Motor dual shaft 425oz-in
– 4 Driver 4.2A 128MicroDriver
