The new BMW M8 Coupe and Convertible were made official last week and now BMW has released a promo video featuring their new top of the range M cars.
There is a standard M8 Coupe and M8 Convertible and a more powerful M8 Competition models in both Coupe and Convertible, have a look at the video below.
Performance and Engine Specifications
The high-revving V8 engine presents a compelling blend of razor-sharp responses, a feverish appetite for revs and sustained power delivery across an extraordinarily wide rev band. The M TwinPower Turbo technology of the 4.4-litre unit includes a pair of turbochargers – positioned in the “V” between the cylinder banks and boasting optimised efficiency – and indirect charge air cooling, plus a direct fuel injection system working with maximum pressure of 350 bar. Another technological highlight is the cross-bank exhaust manifolds.
The engine in the M8 models is designed to deliver exceptional performance. The standard M8 Coupe and Convertible come with a 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The M8 Competition models take it a step further, offering 617 horsepower and the same torque. This allows the M8 Competition Coupe to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds, while the Convertible does it in 3.1 seconds. The standard models are only slightly behind, with the Coupe reaching 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and the Convertible in 3.2 seconds.
Advanced Technology and Features
The new BMW M8 models are equipped with a range of advanced technologies to enhance driving dynamics and comfort. The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system is standard, providing optimal traction and handling. This system can be adjusted to different driving modes, including a rear-wheel-drive mode for those who prefer a more traditional sports car feel.
Inside, the M8 models feature a luxurious and high-tech cabin. The standard equipment includes Merino leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen with BMW’s iDrive 7.0 system. The iDrive system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring seamless smartphone integration. Additionally, the M8 models come with a Harman Kardon surround sound system, with an optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system for audiophiles.
Safety and driver assistance features are also abundant in the new M8. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a head-up display.
