Blackberry has made a comeback in the smratphone market with its new Blackberry Passport, and more recently, the Blackberry Classic, which is up for pre-orders at the company’s website.
Now, a new rumor suggest that Blackberry is working on a high-end smartphone codenamed Rio, which is expected to launch in 2015. The handset will come with an all-touch display.
Blackberry has launched a number of full touch smartphones, Z10, Z30 and the Z5, but they failed to turn around the sales of the company, and ended up in a loss for the company. Some may have thought that Blackberry will ditch the touch smartphones, and will focus on the classic QWERTY keyboard handsets, but it seems that’s not the case. The Canadian OEM wants to give it another try, hoping it will sell better than the previous “Z” series.
There’s no word about the design, specifications or any other information about the handset, but we may get to hear more about the alleged Blackberry Rio in the coming days, thanks to the rumor mill. Let’s hope the company launches a full-touch smartphone which can help the Canadian company get back on its feet.
We’ll update you as soon as we get any other information about the handset.
