Adafruit has announced the availability of its new Audio Adapter Board for Teensy 4.0 priced at $15.95, offering an easy way to add high quality 16 bit, 44.1 kHz sample rate (CD quality) audio to your projects with Teensy 4.0 (Rev D). The board measures just 38.0mm x 36.8mm x 6.7mm in size and weighs 5.1 g and has been designed to go with the Teensy 4.0 Dev Board, and it is not pin-compatible with the Teensy 3.X boards.
“It supports stereo headphone and stereo line-level output, and also stereo line-level input or mono microphone input. The Teensy Audio Library lets you use the input and output simultaneously together with a toolkit of audio processing objects, to easily create all types of sophisticated audio applications. You can play multiple sound files, create synthesised waveforms, apply effects, mix multiple streams and output high quality audio to the headphones or line out pins.”
