Audi has taken the wraps off its new Audi Allroad shooting brake at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The new Audi Allroad uses Audi’s e-tron technology, and it features a hybrid engine which is designed to deliver around 123.80 US mpg.
“The show car combines sex appeal, highly efficient e-tron-quattro technology that produces 300 kW of power yet only consumes 1.9 l/100 km (123.80 US mpg) of fuel and cutting-edge electronic applications,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of AUDI AG, Technical Development. “We are offering very concrete glimpses of the near future in this show car.”
The brand with the four rings is extending its design language in the Audi allroad shooting brake. The compact two-door show car combines a host of visual elements of future sports car models with the Audi-typical allroad concept and “shooting brake” car body form. Its user interface strategy also offers an outlook on future production solutions.
Innovative e-tron Technology
The Audi Allroad shooting brake is a testament to Audi’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The e-tron technology used in this vehicle is a hybrid system that combines a traditional internal combustion engine with an electric motor. This combination not only enhances fuel efficiency but also reduces emissions, making it an environmentally friendly option for modern drivers. The hybrid engine is capable of delivering a remarkable 123.80 US mpg, which translates to approximately 1.9 liters per 100 kilometers. This efficiency is achieved without compromising on power, as the vehicle boasts an impressive 300 kW of power.
The e-tron technology also includes regenerative braking, which captures energy that would otherwise be lost during braking and uses it to recharge the battery. This feature further enhances the vehicle’s efficiency and extends its electric-only driving range. Additionally, the Allroad shooting brake can be charged using a standard electrical outlet, making it convenient for daily use.
Design and User Interface
The design of the Audi Allroad shooting brake is a blend of elegance and functionality. The compact two-door body is both stylish and practical, offering ample space for passengers and cargo. The “shooting brake” design is a nod to classic sports cars, while the allroad concept ensures that the vehicle is capable of handling a variety of terrains and driving conditions.
Inside, the Allroad shooting brake features a user interface that is both intuitive and advanced. The dashboard is equipped with a high-resolution display that provides real-time information on the vehicle’s performance, navigation, and entertainment options. The interface is designed to be user-friendly, with touch controls and voice recognition technology that allow drivers to access features without taking their hands off the wheel.
The interior also includes premium materials and finishes, reflecting Audi’s commitment to quality and luxury. The seats are upholstered in fine leather, and the cabin is accented with brushed aluminum and wood trim. The overall design is both modern and timeless, offering a comfortable and sophisticated driving experience.
