We have already heard quite a bit about the upcoming Windows Phone 7 smartphones, and have recently seen a leaked HTC smartphone running Windows Phone 7.
Now US mobile carrier AT&T has said that they will be the ‘Premier’ carrier of Windows Phone 7 smartphones, in a recent statement to PC World.
‘We’ll be the premier carrier for Windows Phone 7,’ a spokeswoman said via e-mail on Monday. ‘We haven’t given guidance on timing.’
When Microsoft announced Windows Phone 7 was announced at the Mobile Word Congress back in February, Microsoft said that their Windows Phone 7 smartphones would be available with a number of mobile operators, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon.
We are not quite sure what AT&T means by the ‘Premier’ carrier, does this mean that they will carry certain models of Windows Phone 7 handsets, which wont be available with other networks? As soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.
