Earlier today we told you that both Apple an d AT&T had changed the shipping date for iPhone 4 pre-orders to the 2nd of July for anyone who was pre-ordering an iPhone 4 today.
Now it seems that AT&T has suspended pre-orders of the iPhone 4 from their website, and the only way for you to pre-order an iPhone 4 in th US at the moment is through Apple.
AT&T has obviously done this as it is unable to keep up with the huge demand for the iPhone 4 in the US, when pre-orders went on sale yesterday AT&T were unable to keep up with customer demand and their pre-order site crashed, and people were unable to order the iPhone 4.
You would think that AT&T would have been a little more prepared for the iPhone 4, as there will be quite a few upset customers unable to get their hands on an iPhone 4 on launch day.
Here in the UK Apple did something completely different, it offered the iPhone 4 SIM free, which is great news for customers, maybe it is about time Apple started to think about doing this in the US rather than tying US customers into AT&T or at least give them a choice of more than one network for the iPhone 4.
For a company like Apple, who give the impression they are all about the customer, being tied to AT&T doesn’t show this as their customers are not given a choice.
