According to a recent report by Billboard, Apple is working on an iTunes app for Android, and Apple is apparently in talks with the various record labels regarding the app.
Apple is apparently looking at ways to boost its iTunes store, as digital album sales are down around 13 percent and digital single sales are down 11 percent.
Whilst sales may be down, revenue from streaming services is increasing, and this is apparently what Apple is looking into for Google’s Android platform.
iTunes has always been a closed application, and has only been available on Apple’s own mobile devices, although the desktop iTunes app is available on multiple platforms.
It will be interesting to see if Apple do decide to release a version of their iTunes app for Google’s Android platform, and as soon as we get some more details we will let you guys know.
