More evidence has been discovered this week reinforcing the rumour that Apple is edging closer to launching a new Apple TV supporting both 4K Ultra HD and HDR.
Adding to the evidence is now a snippet of code which has been discovered by developer Guilherme Rambo, referencing both 4K and HDR support in an upcoming Apple TV model
The reference was discovered in the HomePod’s firmware and adds further evidence to the growing rumour that Apple is preparing to launch an Apple TV 4K HDR system, although no details on a release date or pricing have been leaked as yet. The code also suggests that the 4K Apple TV could support both the Dolby Vision and HDR10 colour formats for high-dynamic-range video.
Last week evidence was discovered in the form of receipts which listed iTunes movies as 4K and HDR in iTunes purchase history. As soon as more information becomes available either from developers or officially from Apple itself we will keep you up-to-date as always.
