Today Apple has started the automatic process of refunding purchases of the iPhone bumper cases to all customers that purchased them before Apple decided to provide them free of charge, as a antenna issue fix.
So if you purchased one before the antenna issue conference, you should be receiving an email similar to the one below:
Even if you haven’t requested a refund from Apple directly for your bumper, the above email reads like everyone who purchased a bumper will automatically receive the refund, directly back into their account.
As we reported earlier this week the refunds and free bumpers that Apple is issuing to any iPhone 4 user that requests them, in an attempt to correct the reception issues some iPhone 4. Is estimated to cost Apple $175 million in revenue. This figure is still a small amount compared to the estimated $1.5 billion it could have cost Apple for a full recall of the iPhone 4.
