If you’re still rocking the good old iPhone 4 or 4S, you may want to head over to a nearest Apple store as the company kicked off its in-store iPhone upgrade program.
It seems Apple has started sending out emails to eligible iPhone 4/4S owners to upgrade their device. iPhone 4S users started getting emails on May 8th with the subject line “It’s a beautiful time for an upgrade.”
As per 9to5Mac, Apple has started sending memos to Apple Store employees instructing them to encourage iPhone 4 and 4S users with more attractive trade-in values for their devices, which can be used to purchase a new iPhone 5S or 5C. Apple is offering up to $99 credit for the iPhone 4, while owners of iPhone 4S could get as much as $199 credit which can be used towards their new purchase. Here’s what the memo notes:
“It’s a beautiful time for an upgrade. You may be eligible for upgrade pricing on a new iPhone. And if you bring in your old iPhone to be recycled, you could get credit toward a new one. Ask us for details.”
The initiative could definitely attract new customers, especially for customers who don’t want to wait for the iPhone 6. Apple is rumored to be working on a larger iPhone, expected to hit the stores this fall. However, if you don’t feel like waiting for the iPhone 6, this is a pretty good deal. Head over to the Apple store near you to avail this offer — it’s available at US retail stores for now.
