The latest report from comScore has revealed that Apple is the top smartphone maker in the US for the three month period ending in February 2015.
Apple has a 41.7 percent share of the market, which is down 0.1% on the previous quarter and in second place is Samsung with a 28.6% share of the market, this is also down on the previous quarter.
186.3 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones (76.6 percent mobile market penetration) during the three months ending in February, up 5 percent since November. Apple ranked as the top OEM with 41.7 percent of U.S. smartphone subscribers. Samsung ranked second with 28.6 percent market share, followed by LG with 8.3 percent (up 0.7 percentage points from November), Motorola with 5.1 percent and HTC with 3.8 percent (up 0.1 percentage points).
LG is in third place with an 8.3% share of the US smartphone market, up on the previous quarter, in fourth is Motorola and in fifth is HTC.
With regards to mobile OS share Android still holds the top spot with a 52.8% share and in second place is Apple’s iOS with a 41.7% share.
