We have already seen two videos of the new iPhone 6 sapphire display, the display looks to be considerably stronger than any of the smartphone display available on the market at the moment.
The videos have shown the iPhone 6 sapphire display attacked with a hammer and also a knife, and now Apple has been granted a number of patents related to sapphire displays.
According to Apple Insider, the USPTO has published details on patent applications for sapphire displays, including a method for strengthening weak regions of the sapphire display cover and also for illuminated physical controls.
We suspect that Apple will be used the sapphire display on their new iPhone as a major selling point, from what we have seen the display looks almost unbreakable.
The videos we have seen show the display on its own, and not attached to an iPhone, it will be interesting to see if it is still as durable as it looks when tit is installed on the device.
Apple have spent millions of dollars on the production of their new sapphire glass, which will be used in both versions of the iPhone 6 and is also rumored to be launch in the new Apple iWatch.
As soon as the new iPhone is released, we can expect to see numerous drop test videos, and various other videos showing people trying to break the handsets display.
