When the Apple Watch went up for pre-order last Friday the device was available for delivery on launch day, the 24th of April, this changed quickly over the first few hours.
Within minutes of the Apple Watch being made available to pre-order, shipping of the device changes from the 24th 0f April to 4 to 6 weeks and after a few hours shipping dates had dropped to June.
This means that Apple is unable to meet the demand for the Apple Watch on launch day and the company will now have to increase production of the device to catch up.
Apple is expected to increase the production of their new smartwatch over the next few months and we are waiting to get some official figures on how many devices the company has sold in its pre-order weekend.
There are reports that Apple sold around 1 million Apple Watch units in the US alone on Friday, we suspect that Apple probably sold around 2 million units of their device worldwide over the weekend, although it could be higher than this.
Apple may announce some details today on how many pre-orders of their new smartwatch they had over the weekend, as soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.
