Google has revealed the latest version of their mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which will come with the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and will also be rolled out to existing Android devices.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a range of new features and it is designed to work on both tablets and smartphones, it features a new font that is optimized for HD displays, there is also an improved keyboard, new widgets and new notifications.
Google have also improved the built in Android browser, with a refined tab manager, and you can now sync your bookmarks with Google Chrome, Gmail has also had an update in Android 4.0, you can now swipe through your inbox and search messages when you are offline.
There is also a new People app that will let you share high resolution photos and information with your friends on Google+ and other social networks, plus a new feature called Face Unlock, that will let you unlock the device by holding it in front of your face, have a look at the video below.
You can find out more information about Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich over at the Google Mobile Blog, it will be available first on the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus which will go on sale in November.
Google hasn’t released any details as yet on when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be rolled out to existing devices and there are also no details on which devices will get the update, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.
