It’s been a little while since Google posted the factory images of Android 5.1 OS for the Google Nexus 5. It’s not just the factory image, the handset was also spotted running the Android 5.1 update on Geekbench last month.
If you don’t prefer flashing your device, you be glad to find out the Android 5.1 update is rolling out for the Google Nexus 5 as we speak.
If you’re in possession of the Google Nexus 5, make sure to your handset for the update and see if it has arrived. The latest update brings a number of improvements and optimizations for the device. Similar to Nexus 6, the Nexus 5 owners should expect better security in case their device is stolen or lost. The handsets will remain locked until the rightful owner signs in with his/her Google account.
Furthermore, the update brings battery improvements, performance optimizations, 64-bit ART runtime, and bug fixes on board. The OTA weighs at 220.7MB so you make sure you’re connected to a WiFi network before you download the update — if you don’t want to choke out your data allowance.
